ELENA FLORES RECTOR

“Fitness isn’t about what you can make your body do. It’s about celebrating your body for what it’s already doing.”

Elena moved to Chicago 15 years ago to pursue a career in acting. After 2 years traveling with the musical Mamma Mia!, she hung up her musical theater hat and began her career in fitness. Elena has spent the last 12 years teaching everything from barre and pilates to TRX and strength training. She became the Lead Instructor at Flywheel, leading training and instructor development, in 2015. Once the pandemic hit and Flywheel closed, Elena began her career at lululemon as the Studio Manager. There, she gained experience in people management, business strategy and learned the importance of leading with empathy and kindness. All while becoming the mama of 2 wild kiddos and making the occasional cameo on the TV show Chicago Med.

When the opportunity came knocking for her to be a part of building the new Ethos, Elena jumped at the chance to be a part of something magical. She’s thrilled to use her entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, and love for the Chicago fitness community as GM of the new Ethos.

“I learned a long time ago that being fit is not reflected in what my body looks like. Instead, it’s in how I feel. It’s the drive to wake up early and move my body. It’s the overwhelming joy when I’m active. And, it’s the love of getting to be around people that feel fulfilled doing the same.”
